Survey Settings Options Guide

Overview

The Survey Settings in InPoll allow admins and users to customize and manage survey behavior, appearance, and data collection parameters. This guide will help you effectively understand and utilize the available options.

1. Setup Survey Site

InPoll offers two types of survey sites:

  • Salesforce Community Site

  • Webapp Site

1.1 Use Salesforce Community Site

Creating a Community Site for your InPoll Survey provides several benefits:

  • Secure Collaboration: Ensure external users (e.g., customers or partners) can securely access your InPoll Survey platform while protecting your Salesforce data and processes.

  • Enhanced Engagement: Engage effectively with your audience by offering a user-friendly environment for survey participation and feedback sharing.

  • Branding and Customization: Customize the site to match your organization’s identity, delivering a cohesive user experience.

  • Self-Service: Enable users to independently access surveys, submit responses, and view results, reducing the need for support.

  • Data Integration: Seamlessly integrate with Salesforce to sync survey data, improving decision-making with actionable insights.

1.2 Use Webapp Site

Pro users can utilize a dedicated web application interface for enhanced survey participation. This option allows users to engage directly through the web app while seamlessly switching between the Salesforce Community Site and the web app. This flexibility provides a connected experience across platforms and opens up new opportunities to engage a broader audience.

2. Setup AI Setting

The AI Settings feature in InPoll allows you to enhance the survey experience using AI-driven suggestions. By default, the platform includes a ChatGPT key with limited usage. To unlock unlimited AI capabilities, you can integrate your own ChatGPT key, enabling greater flexibility and functionality.

3. App Administrator Setting

In this section, you can configure the system to send emails and notifications to the administrator when usage limits are reached. Simply search for the created admin's name and set it in the designated field to receive these important alerts.

4. Advanced Mapping/Distribution Configuration

InPoll provides powerful features for advanced distribution through customizable triggers. These triggers can be created easily with a user-friendly interface, requiring access to the metadata/tooling API. You have two options for configuration:

4.1 Use Session ID

The Session ID option allows for simple distribution without additional configuration. However, it comes with the responsibility of understanding session timeout settings in Salesforce. If inactive for a configured time, the session will be terminated, requiring reauthentication to prevent unauthorized access.

4.2 Use Named Credentials with Auth Provider

This option offers several benefits:

  1. Streamlined Authentication: Named Credentials centralize authentication settings, removing the need for manual authentication handling in Apex code. With an Auth Provider, OAuth 2.0 flows like refresh tokens are automatically managed.

  2. Ease of Integration with External APIs: Named Credentials simplify the connection with third-party services, securely managing tokens without hardcoding them in your Apex code.

  3. Security Best Practices: Named Credentials securely store sensitive information like tokens, minimizing security risks while Salesforce handles authentication to external systems.
