Use this guide to create a survey and see what to do after you create it. For survey creators.
Create a survey
- In the InPoll app, click the Surveys tab.
- In the left panel, click Create survey.

- In the Create survey dialog, enter a Survey title. You can enter up to 70 characters.
- Choose a Survey type: General Survey or NPS Score Survey.
- Optional: enter a Description. You can enter up to 250 characters.

- Click Create survey. The survey builder opens.
Use the survey builder to add questions to your survey.
If you have no surveys yet, the Surveys tab says so. It points you to the ready-made templates and to InPoll Settings, where you set up the survey site that respondents use.
Other ways to start
- Use a template: click Survey templates in the left panel and choose a template. The first one, Case closed: quick CSAT, is a ready-made satisfaction survey. See Create a survey from a template.
- Clone a survey: copy an existing survey, then change it. In the survey list, click the arrow on the survey and click Clone.
- Optional AI drafting: availability depends on your installed version. Read Optional AI: availability and prerequisites before configuring it; templates and manual creation work without AI.
After you create the survey
- Add and edit questions: on the builder page, add question types such as multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdown, short answer, paragraph, rating and slider. Each question has basic and advanced settings.
- Build logic: use the Build Logic tab on a question to control the path of respondents based on their earlier answers.
- Format text and survey: use rich text to change how the survey and its questions look.
- Preview: preview the survey in desktop view and mobile view to check how it looks and to find mistakes or logic issues.
- Publish: a survey can be sent only after you publish it. See Publish a survey.
- Send: after you publish, use the Send screen to share a link or QR code, email personal invitations, or send automatically from a Flow. See Send a survey.
- Write answers back: use Response Mapping to put answers into Salesforce records, such as the Case the survey was about. See Response mapping.
